Down by Dixie is a family/community newsletter that was started in the early 2000's. Printed records of the newsletter date from 2013 to 2015. Dixie is a small community in northeastern Grayson County, Texas that dates its existence to the mid-19th century, originally being referred to as Theodore. The newsletter was written, published and distributed by Dusty Williams, a 9th generation Grayson County resident who has very deep roots in the Dixie area. The contents of this book are the newsletter entitled, Down by Dixie, from 2013 to 2015. This collection is unedited and the newsletters are printed within this collaboration just as they appeared when they were originally distributed. The newsletter tells of family and community events and happenings as well as several histories that pertain to the area.
