DC-8 on Display

As shown in the posted photos there is a wonderful display of a retired DC-8 Jet Mainliner in Exposition Park in Los Angeles, next to USC. I was awe-struck when I first spotted this gigantic aircraft while visiting USC. It's great to walk under it, see the rivets up close, capture the imagination of this hulking beast taking off 20 feet over your head. You can't go inside, but an up-close look at this aircraft is well worth the visit.

This series is terrific!

Hard to say what I like best about the DC-8 edition of this series, which I wish offered more volumes. The pictures are great, many never seen before. There's interesting and in-depth reading on the development and roll out of the 8, a comprehenive model list and inventory, and more.

Fantastic Book

I've searched for a long time a good DC 8 book which would show and describe what happened in the planning-time, in the production-time, what for problems the engeeners had and so on.And I've found it, I recommend this book strongly to everybody who loves the DC 8 and the early jetliners.

Great Book on a wonderful airplane.

I just received this book, but I am already very happy with it. It is full of lots of details on this wonderful old aircraft and a large number of color photos. It makes me remember a childhood trip I took on a Delta DC-8 and we got to sit in this lounge type set up in the very front of the airplane, ahead of the galley. With 2 sets of 2 seats facing each other with a table between them. What a wonderful and elegant airplane. I can't wait to finish the book.
