Double Jeopardy: Deception of a Nightmare

By Jerlean S. Noble

In the heart of Greenville, two identical twins unknowingly live separate lives-one consumed by darkness, the other completely unaware that his mirror image even exists. Born to a struggling single mother who secretly gave one child away at birth, James and Eugene grow into men whose lives are destined to collide in the most terrifying way imaginable.
James is cruel, manipulative, and dangerously abusive to his wife, Sharon. What begins as emotional torment escalates into obsession and stalking as Sharon desperately tries to escape the nightmare of their marriage. Her final terrifying encounter with James happens on a dark mountain road where he attempts to force her car over the edge. But fate intervenes, and James is killed instead, ending the deadly pursuit-or so Sharon believes.
At the funeral, Sharon's grief quickly turns into horror when she sees a man standing near the coffin who looks exactly like James. The resemblance is impossible to ignore: the same face, the same scar on his cheek, even the same unsettling stare. Panic consumes her as one chilling question pounds in her mind: Who is really lying in the coffin?
The stranger is Eugene, a kind-hearted man who has no knowledge of the twin brother stolen from his life at birth. But what terrifies Sharon most is not just how identical the two men appear-it is the eerie familiarity between them. Eugene says her name exactly the way James did. He tilts his head with the same strange mannerisms. Even the quiet intensity in his eyes feels hauntingly familiar. Sharon begins to question her own sanity as fear and confusion blur the line between reality and nightmare.
