Dorrie and the witches imp

the book was in good condition, but there were a few things that were not told when i bought it. it was a library book and had page ripped in the front. i was aware it was not a collectors book so it was not in perfect condition but i would have liked to know those thing before purchace. overall, i am happy to have found it.

cozy kids' book

I agree with the reviewer who said that publishers should bring the Dorrie books back to print. They are so precious. I remember my mom reading the books to me when I was little. The pictures are incredible and the stories are not scary for small children. Good for 4-7 yr. olds, I think.

Dorrie is my idol

Dorrie's Hat is on Straight, her Socks Match - What's Wrong?

"Natter, natter, ugly imp, come quick as quick" chants Gloris, the cook who doesn't know how to cook, when Gloris thinks Dorrie's not listening. An imp that looks like Dorrie appears, distinguishable because his hat is on straight, his socks match, and Natter is neat and doesn't knock over a thing setting the table. Will the Big Witch listen? And where is Cook, the real cook? All of the Dorrie books start "This is Dorrie. She is a witch . . . " and have plenty of familiar words to help the beginning reader. They always end with Dorrie going to bed, with Gink at her feet. The Big Witch is a distracted, hard-working single mother with a big house that needs cleaning. She's not an impossible fictional mother for us real mothers to be compared to.
