Doppelg nger tells the story of two eighth grade girls with very different lives. Annie Barton lives with her single mother in a rented apartment in Jamaica, Queens. Willow Vernet lives with her parents in a high rise condo on Central Park West in Manhattan.
Yet these girls have one thing in common, one big thing-they are doppelg ngers; they look and sound exactly alike.
Because of this, Willow gets pushed by two friends-Billy and Raven-to contact Annie. They entice her into several small performances as Willow; then into impersonating Willow at the entrance exam for a prestigious music school.
