The prequel begins with nine year old Charlotte's arrival to Boise after the tragic death of her parents. She must start a new life with her aging grandparents. As sad as this sounds, life must go on. Charlotte becomes best friends forever with Lena, excels as a student and learns to fly. Along for the ride was Lena's younger brother Justin.
The sequel to begins on that magical New Year's Eve when Charlotte and Justin share their first epic kiss, and long night to follow. This is the story of their growing friendship and love.

The sequel consists of the odd numbered chapters which take place in the present day.

The prequel consists of the even numbered chapters which begin in the past.

Each chapter begins with a time marker to show readers when the chapter takes place. As the novel progresses, the past and present chapters will move forward in time and finally converge at the end of the story.
