Ever feel bad for something you should not, or think about an event, something that happened or is about to happen way too much? There are people, like me in the past that spend way too much time on something that does or did not deserve the amount of time or many times for that matter no time at all on and I sat there and vacillated over and over on this one event while I was losing precious time and missing out on other happy opportunities. Recently I had an event in my life that really inspired this book because I don't want others to have to go through this experience. I had to attend my father's funeral, he was a Vietnam Veteran and had a full military funeral, taps, gun salute and flag presentation. As the oldest and only child, it was supposed to be my honor to receive the presentation of the flag. My Aunt in all of her narcissistic ways stole that from me and got them to present the flag to her, not only that, she and her son, ushered the flag and Presidential letter to their car without even allowing me to see either one. This ate at me, I gave in to the emotion of allowing her to gain a large portion of my power for over a week. So many other things were affected from this one event because I allowed it to. When we are in this mental state, we are giving up a part of ourselves which is not a good thing. We can allow our mental health decline, our anger to run rampant and make very poor decisions on or in other areas of our lives. Or, we can control these mental processes, move on and be done with them. Will the emotion come up again, yes but through the techniques that are shared with you, it can make it as easy as you allow it to be by following a few short steps.
