Don't Castrate Your Kid: A better way to handle gender confusion

Popular culture has been falling in love with the idea that a man can become a woman, a woman a man, that there are no limits, and that the people who chose to "change sex" are pioneers rather than mentally ill. Like cheering on the alcoholic and buying him more drinks, we give transsexuals exactly what they ask for and they thank us. The problem with enabling this particular mental illness is that it has severe consequences. Every parent who thinks it is cute their child likes to cross-dress, or who believes they should not stand in the way of their child "finding himself," risks condemning that child to a life of infertility, expensive hormones, and dangerous surgery. Worse yet, they fix a permanent state of confusion in the child's mind, which poisons the child day and night, leading to increased substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and ultimately suicide. Dr. Miller offers a better way.
