“A cult classic. A cosmic riddle. A rabbit-shaped warning.”

I was surprised to see some of my favorite actors in the movie. It wasn’t one of those cheap “B” critters. We see an all-grown-up Drew Barrymore without her E.T. Then there is Katharine Ross, who is no longer a Stepford Wife.
Donnie (Jake Gyllenhaal), after narrowly escaping a freak accident, is off his meds. He makes a new friend, Frank (James Duval). As you guessed, Donnie is not altogether. But for not being altogether, he can reason and does pretty well for a high school student. Frank, a people sized rabitoid, warns Donnie that time is running out. Frank helps Donnie go on an adventure while correcting society's ills.
Will Donnie complete the mission of which he is not aware, or is it curtains for us all?
You may guess the outcome before it happens, but it is the journey and the characters that make the movie.
