Fun entertainment

Got this for a younger family member. He loved it, and it helped occupy him in a long car ride.

Want to throw the book away.

Super disappointed. Book was said to be “very good” condition yet some other child wrote all over the book. And how they are allowed to get away with scamming people this way is disgusting. It’s obviously a do it yourself book. And we want it blank for a reason.

Not like new condition

I ordered this in hardback, in 'like new condition'. It is fully written in throughout the book. I figured ordering it in the 'like new condition', it might have a few pages written in, but this is more than 80% written in. For the condition and the days it took to get here, I would have been better off ordering brand new from Amazon.

Should have bought it NEW

I also bought this book "in very good condition" and it was completely filled in with answers and scribbles from another child. It's totally unusable. I guess "very good condition" means "very used." Recommend buying as "new" unless you want to waste your money.

Used book was used

I ordered this book in very good condition. It was filled in and finished by a child who uses bad language.

Mike's review

Fantastic book. My two youngest kids - my son and daughter, respectively - loved the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Do it Yourself book. It actually was for my son, but my daughter kept stealing it from him and writing her own things in it, thus creating arguments (typical for those two anyway). Now they both want more Wimpy Kid books from the series and she wants her own Do It Yourself book. I now have ideas for useful birthday and Christmas presents that's not another toy and motivates them to put their day and thoughts in written words and do so creatively. THANK YOU Jeff Kinney. As a longtime sportswriter, I feel writing, especially a journal or diary, is very important at every age. :) Mike Boyd Ste. Genevieve, Mo.

Love it

my son really enjoys the do it your self book. I found that he is more actively reading and he looks forward in writing in it every night.

Engaging and Interactive

My 10 year old son loved this book. Within minutes he was reading, writing, drawing... and most importantly using his imagination! Does use some bathroom humor, but my son thought that was hilarious. Offers lots of different things to do with examples on one side and room for your child's own thoughts or drawings on the other. Really encourages your child to get creative. Has quizzes, comic strips etc. Plenty of fun stuff that my child had a blast with. Also includes blank, lined pages so that your child has room to journal. Has held his interest for longer than I thought it would. I see him from time to time carrying the book around with a pencil in hand. When he get quiet and I ask what he's doing he replies "Writing in my book"! He's not a studious child so this has been a remarkable experience for me!

Do It Yourself Wimpy Kid

I bought this for a gift for an 8 year old girl. She absolutely loved it. There are many fun activity pages allowing for creativity & artisitc ability as well.

children's books

For some reason which I personally can't fathom children LOVE these books. My 10 yr. is required to read 20 mins. per night for school. At least with this book I don't have to fight with him to do it. He WANTS to read this series.
