This book is the fourth in my series of Do Ask, Do Tell books. I have always treated acting on sexual orientation (in appropriate private and consensual circumstances) as a matter of individual liberty. Now I must take up the issue of gender identity, which has attracted rapidly growing media attention, especially in the past ten years. I also take up the controversy over Internet age verification, which will affect the self-distribution of content soon. "Freedom of reach" for individualized content can also be influenced by personal social credibility, especially in a polarized political climate where individuals are prodded to join organizations in publicly taking sides about social justice or collective reputational interests. Other recent issues, with which I have recent experience, include the integrity of elections and proper controls over illegal immigration.
