By "solar power," we mean the generation of electricity or thermal energy from the sun's rays. Solar energy, which uses the sun's rays to produce either electricity or heat, is a clean and reliable source of energy. The radiant energy from the sun is gathered by solar panels or solar thermal collectors to create solar power. To harness the power of the sun, photovoltaic (PV) solar panels are installed. Semiconductors like silicon are used in these panels, and they work by absorbing solar photons and releasing electrons to generate power. Solar panels can either immediately power electronics or store excess energy in batteries for later use. On the other side, solar thermal systems can be used to heat a building or produce power. Most solar thermal systems involve the use of mirrors or lenses to focus sunlight onto a receiver, which then uses the heat from the concentrated rays to power an electrical generator. The heat can either be utilized directly to warm water or a building, or it can be converted into steam to power a turbine. Due to the lack of greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution during operation, solar power is regarded as a clean and sustainable energy source. It's useful for cutting back on fossil fuel use, which in turn helps slow global warming. Rooftops, solar farms, and even space-based solar power stations are all viable locations for installing solar power systems.
