In the book Matthildur shares her own deeply personal experiences of growing up in a society where she felt rejected and forced to live a life she never dreamed of. She leans in to honestly examine how childhood rejection can grow through generations when emotions are not healed and how children ultimately pay the price in the form of broken connections and emotional distance. Her own experience of rejection shaped her life, leading to a marriage she never wanted and other hardships. It wasn't until Matthildur had met an Australian Geologist and moved to him to Australia that she recounts her transformation, coming full circle to embrace her true self.
