"Diving Blind into Danger" is about my 40 years commercial diving in Alaska's Cook Inlet. The treacherous tidal currents and the black, zero visibility water create extreme diving hazards. No diver has ever been killed in the Cook Inlet, but there have been a lot of close calls. The stand-by diver has rescued many a trapped partner. I describe some of these adventures and rescues in detail. (When the flotation pontoon on the Grayling Platform broke loose, the platform legs hurtled down to the sea floor with me and my partner riding them down to the bottom.)
