You will see yourself in the book

The book was AWESOME. You will see yourself in each character. I could totally relate to Yolanda. I saw myself in the others as well, but Yolanda hit home for me. It's a good book for self-reflection and group discussion. You will not be able to put the book down. It is a MUST READ.

Divas of Damascus Road challenges the yoke of deceit we often saddle our lives with by making you laugh out loud without losing the significance of the point(s) being made and allowing you to see something within yourself that needs fixin` without pointing a condemning finger. A must read for every diva on a journey to purpose and joy.

Read it in 1 Day!

I read the prologue of Divas in the back of Boaz Brown and I knew from then that I HAD to read this 2nd novel. It was another page-turner, and I saw a little of myself/my family in each of myself (especially Regina - struggling with weight all of her life). My sister is a lot like Yolanda - everything's gotta be perfect and wonders why she doesn't have a man. Dianne was my heart, though. I was really concerned about her all the way through and I just cried like a baby when the Lord delivered her. Glory to His name! Gloria was a trip - can we say skeletons? Aunt Toe was funny, and Joyce Ann - you just have to read her to even begin to start with her. All I can say is, we need to wake up to the effects of mental illness when unaddressed. This is an excellent read with an excellent message. God bless you, Michelle! Keep it up!

Dianne left Dentonville, Texas vowing never to return until she got a call from her aunt Gloria begging her to come to the wedding. Dianne did miss her family. She always had an excuse for the major events of life cousin Yolanda's graduation from pharmacy school, her sister - Regina's baby shower, great aunt Toe's birthday party, and it would be heart-wrenching to miss aunt Gloria's wedding. Dianne called on her trusty male friend to accompany on her the long bus trip from Conroe back home. Things were fine until her mom, Joyce Ann, showed up in town. All the family secrets started falling out of the closet and they can only hope prayers will be enough as their family is sinking fast. Just like Boaz Brown, Stimpson's first book, Divas of Damascus Road is a page-turner that will capture your attention from page one. The characters are easy to identify with. You can place them within your own family while they grow and develop into people you love at the end. The storyline has twists and turns you will never see coming with outcomes only the Lord can workout. Stimpson carefully weaves God's love and forgiveness into the story by changing the hearts and actions of the women within the family. The implied lessons can be used in reader's everyday lives.
