Touching and funny book

I loved this book! It was so much fun to read, and touched on so many subjects that I, as an English teacher and as a single woman, am interested in. It managed to express what an adoptee feels like, and also made it clear that you can get what you want if you face problems in your life. I really recommend it to anyone who loves to read.

lessons run deep

Disturbing the Peace is a novel about a search--for a birth mother, but ultimately for direction and meaning in a precarious world. The novel engages us with wit and charming dialogue, but its lessons run deep. I couldn't put this down. Both novel and protagonist are winners--full of sympathy, energy, and wisdom.

I want to meet Alex Astor!

sara's romance with that mysterious inventor made me jealous! I couldn't put this book down. Couldn't help rooting for her on her quest. Recommended especialy to those who have a tough time saying "no" to people when they need help.

This novel really gets it right!

I loved this novel because it really depicts what it feels like to search for a birth mother and doesn't over sweeten the main character's reunion with her mother. I also enjoyed the humor and sometimes laughed out loud. I like the point it makes about taking care of problems in your background in order to make your life better. I've bought 3 copies for friends and believe that everyone who is thinking about searching or has searched for a birth parent would really enjoy it.

I Couldn't Put It Down

I usually don't finish books but this one grabbed me because I HAD to find out what happened to the character Sarah. I really felt like I knew her because she shared so many experiences I had when I searched for my birth mother. I found myself cheering for her right until the last page of the book. She had courage and a great sense of humor. Also, she made so many clever observations about people along the way that in spite of the serious subject, the book was very often funny. I can't wait to read more by Nancy Newman.
