Gas concentrations within the wheat mass were sampled with a thermal conductivity (t/ C) unit from 3 bundles or tiers of probes at 30 minutes, 4 hours, 8 hours, and 24 hours after application of the fumigant. Each tier of probes drew gas samples from the 5 10 and 15-foot or bottom levels. One sampling tier was placed near the north wall, a second 4 feet from the bin wall, and a third in the center of the bin.
