Movie worthy

Distant Thunder rates a movie with an all star cast!!! Nick Casto writes with the flare of a great novelist, and works with the patience of a terrific physician!

we need more

A very exciting book of intrique and violence in the line of sci- fi, Indiana Jones, and Tom Clancy. The hero, Dr. Kevin Mercer, is a mild mannered meterologist thrust into a plot of America's struggle to rid itself of illegal drug traffic. The author's knowledge of modern science makes all the sci-fi stuff seem plausible and keeps the reader on the edge of his/her seat. We need more, Nick! Keep Dr. Mercer having one adventure after another. You will have a grateful reading public if you do.

A Tom Clancy-like thriller!

Nick Casto's DISTANT THUNDER reads like a Tom Clancy movie. It is packed with intrigue, hi-technology, politics, action and suspense. It is fast paced and promotes your looking for opportunities to sneak time to return to it. I rarely read novels, I usually wait for the movie. There is a bit of the Alfred Hitchcock NORTH BY NORTHWEST ploy where the every day citizen is chosen by high government authorities to perform top secret services for national security. Like Robert Redford in THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR, the hero, Kevin Mercer, is not sure who he is working for, or if they are out to kill him or not. There is even an episode of chasing lightning strikes, not unlike the tornado chasers in TWISTER (but this was written prior to the movie). If you like fast pace excitement, hi-tech intrigue, read this one before the movie comes out. (Incidentally, great cover design.)
