Distant Echoes: A ghost story

Do you believe in ghosts? No? Neither did Danny until he went to London.
It's the 1980s and Danny Stephens, unemployed, estranged from his wife, is experiencing a return of the migraine attacks of his youth along with some frightening hallucinations. When adoptive sister, Carol, head of a successful private inquiry agency, asks him to deliver a package to a London address, he agrees, ignoring the angry objections of their father.
Danny cannot remember the first eleven years of his life thanks to a bout of meningitis, which has left him suffering from dissociative amnesia. The address on the package is in the borough he used to live as a child and, seeing a perfect opportunity to explore the area and maybe re-awaken some of those forgotten memories.
Arriving at the address he discovers the near decapitated body of a man and flees back to Norfolk in panic to consult Carol. On a snowy winter's evening they drive from the city to the isolated farm Carol's client has given as her address. Here they discover another bloody death scene and a copy of a recently unearthed 1950s photograph showing a group of children outside Danny's childhood home.
When the contents of the London package prove to be yet another copy, Danny becomes convinced that these recent events have something to do with his lost years and begs Carol to allow him to investigate further. He returns to London, not realising that his memory has already started to return and that the hallucinations are just a prelude to a living nightmare, which is about to unfold. He soon has to face up to a long hidden secret and an evil which has waited a long time for revenge.
