Displaced- The Journey Home is a book that investigates the refugee crisis through interviews with refugees, volunteers, rescue team workers, a human trafficker, and many others involved in this crisis.
As I traveled and spoke to people trying to escape their war-torn homelands, I began to feel the pinch of long-buried feelings of rootlessness and displacement within myself. Of course, every human feels a sense of emotional or physical displacement some time in their life. Even so, we habitually criticize refugees, asylees, and immigrants who leave their homes for a better life.
And in the end, do any of us ever find the "home" we are looking for?
