This book is about my career as an aerospace engineer. It spans the period from 1972 to 2012. This is not a technical book, although some technical detail is provided in sidebars. Illustrations, equations, and algorithms are optional. Skipping this detail does not interfere with the flow of the book. I have included some keywords, concepts, and jargon so that the interested reader can Google these phrases to get more detail. My goal in writing this book is to present a semi-serious, slightly irreverent look at what an aerospace career looks like from the inside, from early on to the foreseeable future. I'll describe memorable people and projects. Context is provided through the back story. My hope is to inspire you, or someone you know, to work in this exciting, ever-changing profession.
