Not Biblically sound - “soft” history for easy writing

Picked this up at the local Goodwill and purchased it because of the Reviews here. I was very let down. If you like conversational and ad-libbed history, this is an entertaining book. If you want a serious examining of Daniel’s life, this is not it. From the very beginning, anecdotal life experiences are given totally unrelated to Daniel and the time Daniel lived. Once the author does start telling of Daniel‘s life, beginning at the destruction of Jerusalem and Daniel being taken, the author goes into realms of speculation of a death march, and horrid extreme conditions. I had to put the book down because as we know from reading the Bible that Nebuchadnezzar took the surviving princes and leaders, and put them in training in his court to evaluate if he was going to utilize them in his organization. Sure, they could be executed, but they were an investment, not slaves for the fodder. Daniel was not put into a death march. Daniel later became one of the top three rulers in the land and most trusted advisor.
