Discover Your Brain

By Marie Filch

For a few dark moments, imagine your three-year-old granddaughter was in a tragic accident.

You're told by physicians that your granddaughter-we'll call her Lorie-has sustained severe brain damage and they're even recommending transferring her to a facility where she can pass in peace.

The damage is extensive. Many of the connections between the two hemispheres of Lorie's brain were either severed or severely damaged. But you notice something the doctors do not. When you look into her eyes, she seems to smile.
