It hurts to lose new converts. That is why we should try as much as possible to retain them. It pays to disciple new converts effectively and retains them in the faith and the Church, for God would greatly reward us for it. Discipleship (to follow Jesus Christ) is extremely important because it provides support and guidance to new converts. That said, it is a great blessing to be called into discipleship because the blessings in store for us are beyond our imagination. Remember, our work is not yet complete, until the convert that we disciple is mature enough to take up the assignment of preaching the gospel i.e. the great commission to (Go-Ye).
