Digital Photography with Adobe Photoshop Elements should be required reading for anyone planning to learn how to use Photoshop Elements. The intuitive interactive format of the book makes it easy even for the novice to master the various techniques that Photoshop Elements encompasses. The bundled CD includes all of the image files of the examples used by the authors to illustrate the various steps steps in photo manipulation. These images allow the student to actually perform the steps as described in the text. This becomes a hands-on learning experience.The book is very well organized and extremely well illustrated, which makes following the procedures very clear and easy to follow.I consider this book a must for anyone who feels intimidated by Photoshop Elements.

The very best book currently available for learning PSE

I carefully looked through 7 books on Photoshop Elements (PSE) and bought two. I read one pretty thoroughly but found it did not give me a good handle on the tools and techniques in PSE. The other book did not really teach the program but showed ways to handle specific problems. Then I came across this book and bought it. What a pleasure. The book is lucid and well organized. Generally, the teaching approach is to take a small project and show you step by step how various tools and techniques are used. The book is full color and the authors show you in color exactly what happens each time a tool or technique is applied. Many other books on the market do not have full color nor do they show all that is being done; they rely instead on descriptive prose. The subject here concerns visual material and to learn it we need to see what happens when we apply a tool or technique. A valuable bonus is the free technical support web site that you can use to ask questions via e-mail for clarifying difficulties. I found their answers to my questions to be clear and thorough. In my opinion, it is by far the very best book currently available for learning PSE. You will not go wrong with this book.
