English summary: Philology, the love of words, which developed first as the care of, and commentating on, ancient texts, has experienced a new book in the last several years. "Philology" therefore serves on the one hand as a general phrase for all literary and linguistic studies and also on the other hand it stands for the concentration on the basic operations in dealing with texts such as their collection, comparison, editing, and commenting. This book presents the variety of European philology for languages, especially classical philology, medieval philology, Germanic studies, Romance studies, English studies and comparative philology.
