Good Book

This book is basically about this cheerleader Alexa Close amd a boy named Herb who is iterested in photography. He takes pictures of a murder and thats where it all begins, a great book but not for imatture readers or for kids it's got to much death and drugs in it. But it's still agreat book!!!

Die softly is one of a kind!!

Now I read this book a year ago, and I can still remember the storyline. It is indeed one of a kind !But don't let the cover put you off. It was only because of the blurb that I decided to read it. It's based about a young lad called Herby, who's not popular, but he's got a talent, he can capture people's real beauty on camera. Sadly the fool decides to take pictures of the cheerleaders in the schools showers.BUT INSTEAD he gets something else. I'll leave it at that. I think that it's a touching story, the ending broke my heart! But it came down to reality and sometimes things don't always turn out the way you want it to. Great book if your looking for horror.I believe they should turn this book into a movie,it's great.

"He took a picture of death...."

"Die Softly" takes place in Mannville, California, a small town virtually empty of crime. The book alternates between the present and past events leading up to several teen murders. In an investigative phone call between Sergeant Fitzsimmons and Herb Trasker (the 18-year-old male protagonist), Herb explains how he became involved in the murder of a popular cheerleader and various other high school students.Friday:It began as an immature plan to "get even" with the cheerleader squad by photographing them while they showered in the locker rooms after practice. Shortly after the scheduled photo shoot, the head cheerleader (Lisa Barnscull) dies in a fiery auto crash at the bottom of a cliff. Herb doesn't think much of the connection between these two events until he's developing the film--and he recognizes two people in the background (one being Sammie Smith, one of his closest friends, hiding in the shadows; the other is Alexa Close, the sweet cheerleader Herb has a crush on, who is creeping up on Lisa with a baseball bat). After this discovery, the next 24 hours are a complete blur for Herb. He trails one suspect after another during a nonstop sleepless night, knowing that if he isn't too careful with the information he has, he could be the next murder victim. When I began "Die Softly", I wasn't really into it, mainly because the dream in the prologue seemed pointless and a bit too long. But once Herb began describing the events of what happened to Sergeant Fitzsimmons, the book quickly became more interesting. One bit of advice, though: no matter how tempting it is, do not read the last page/sentence of this book ahead of time. I did and it completely ruined the suspense for me. Other than that, if you're into teen horror/suspense, then this is a good book to try. It's really fast-paced and twisted (particularly the ending), everything typical of a good Pike book.

Absolutely Fantastic!!!

I have been Reading Christopher pike books for 2 years now and this book absolutely got me. The fast pace of everything was wild. This book is so realistic that you can watch everything Happen. Christopher Pike is an absolute Suspense Genius. I reccomend everyone 12 and up to read this book.

This book was so scary!!!

The thing that made this book so good was that it was very realistic and the ending was so cool. It was really hard to put this book down because I had to find out what would happen to Herb next.
