Dictatorship gay protest literature

The dictatorship in Chile, which lasted from September 11, 1973 to March 11, 1990, gave rise to one of the crudest and most important social contexts in the country's history. The novel Tengo miedo torero by Chilean author Pedro Lemebel, published in Chile in 2001 by Seix Barral's "Biblioteca breve" collection, has been one of the few novels capable of comprehensively reflecting the events of sexual minorities in times of repression. This book is made up of three research axes: the first is based on the analysis of the social and political context of the work, the second is related to the homosexual protest discourse addressed in the novel and the third presents the study of gender theories in the author's aesthetic proposal. The analysis should help, through the contested discourse, to build a society based on inclusive education and should be useful for professionals in the field of Literature.
