Dictation to Improve Spelling

The study aims to establish the extent to which dictation can improve the growth of spelling skills among 4th grade elementary school students. Language development depends primarily on spelling skills, as it is fundamental to developing communicative, social and professional competence. Literacy levels may also vary according to language spoken, socioeconomic background or occupation. In an era where technological and educational transformations are more imperative than ever, effective approaches need to be considered. Given the current teaching and learning environment, educators need inventive methodologies in the delivery of their lessons.In addition, the role of spelling in conveying a simple and clear message is emphasized. It has been claimed that dictation can be a valuable method for perfecting spelling, recall, comprehension, and skill development.In order to cope with the obstacles in education, adopt innovative ways and means that make students become active participants and develop interest in the study process.
