Diary of a Bird is an amusing piece of bird wisdom written by a little Black throated Green Warbler and translated into English. The warbler talks about life as he knows it, such as meeting and gossiping with other bird species, and the beauty of the forest where he lives, and more personal things such as the time his mate was angry because he wasn't helping enough with the nest. When a bird friend invites the writer to a huge meeting of all birds to discuss "The Destruction and Extermination of Birds" the reader gets a lesson in wildlife conservation from the various members of the great bird convention who relate their grievances. The statistics have been updated from the original version of the book but the lessons are the same. Although this enjoyable little book was originally written a century ago to awaken popular interest in the protection of our birds, the message it sends to the reader is just as important today. The many beautiful photos from the US Fish and Wildlife Service make this a special book for anyone who loves our feathered friends, young and old alike.
