Diana Tempest

By Mary Cholmondeley

Book Overview

Diana Tempest is a novel written by Mary Cholmondeley. It tells the story of Diana Tempest, a beautiful and wealthy young woman who lives in the English countryside. Despite her privileged upbringing, Diana is not content with her life and longs for something more. She becomes involved in a love triangle with two men - the charming but unreliable Captain Cunningham and the steady and dependable Sir Richard. As Diana struggles to choose between them, she must navigate the complexities of society and the expectations placed upon her as a woman of her class. Along the way, she learns valuable lessons about love, loyalty, and the true nature of happiness. The novel is a classic example of the ""New Woman"" genre, which emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and explored themes of female independence and empowerment.I Must Have Out Those Bonds, ' He Went On, Forgetting His Visitor Again Instantly.
