Jerusalem was originally conquered from the Jebusites by D d-David, in
order to consecrate the unity of the twelve tribes of Israel: by its neutrality,
it belonged neither to Israel - ten tribes - nor to Judah - two tribes.
Souleymane - Salomon, son of D d - David, made Jerusalem a spiritual
center with the construction of the first temple, to house the tablets of the
Law and commune with the one God of Ibrahim-Abraham.
And every time the traces of monotheism are erased, the curse falls on
Jerusalem...
Through a dialogue full of verve and erudition, imagined between the city of
Jerusalem and a Muslim, the author illustrates verse 103 of the Koran's
third sura: 'Hold fast together to the Habl or cable of Allah and do not be
divided. Remember the blessing that Allah bestowed upon you: you were
once enemies, then He brought your hearts together so that, through His
blessing, you became brothers... You stood on the brink of a pit of fire, and
He delivered you from it. Thus, Allah makes His revelations clear to you so
that you may be rightly guided .
