Type 1 diabetes is the cause of a number of serious degenerative complications, including microangiopathic damage, mainly retinopathy, nephropathy and neuropathy. This book is divided into two complementary sections. The first is devoted to a review of the literature on diabetic microangiopathy in T1DM in children and adolescents. It covers the various microvascular disorders, their pathophysiological mechanisms and their clinical implications. The second part is a study, the main aim of which is to determine the prevalence of diabetic microangiopathy, in its various components, occurring in the paediatric setting. This study is based on a monocentric recruitment from western Algeria, followed from 2002 to 2025. It also aims to identify and analyze factors associated with microangiopathy.
