Devotions in the Dark: Encouraging Words for Hard Times

Devotions in the Dark was written during the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic. As a retired pastor and spiritual counselor, I had spent years helping hurt people through difficult times. I had addressed fear, anxiety, and uncertainty on a personal level as well. Knowing so many people were without hope, I took it upon myself to write morning devotions to lift people's spirits. These became a routine for many who were looking for something to shine a light during some very dark days. As the pandemic began to wane I decided it was time to end the devotions. Many of those who read them each morning asked if I would put them into a format where they could read them again and share them with others. These brief devotions with Bible verses can help through all sorts of hard times. They would be appropriate for those who have lost close friends and family members to death. They would bring hope to those who are encountering physical, emotional or spiritual problems.
