The objective of the thesis work is to design simulate and fabricate various antennas capable of achieving wireless communication on moving platform. PCS (Personal Communication Services) is everywhere, providing wireless voice and data communication services and allowing huge extents of terminal mobility. Antenna being an integral part of any communication system there is an immense need for low-profile, high performance and cost effective antennas. This research work is directed towards study, design and experimental validation of various types of antennas with features like Ultra Wide Bandwidth (UWB), high gain, compactness, easy mounting on moving bodies etc which are capable of wireless mobile communication. The final objective of the present research work is to design a complete Trans-receiver Antenna System fit to be mounted on a moving platform, primarily on a railway compartment rooftop.
