This book is the fourth in a series of mysteries written by its ten year old author named Jack, who lives in a world where some dogs can talk. Sam (French Bulldog) and Napoleon (Doberman) are only two of these. It is recommended that the books be read in order, since each builds on the one before. In this book, the mystery is of a grave nature which requires that Sam and Jack take dangerous, personal risks. Fortunately, they learn about witches living right in their own township, and they are willing to use any magic or skills to help out.

(Of course, not ALL dogs speak Human. That would be ridiculous.)
