A Real Page-Turner

This is a remarkable true story by a first-time author. I was drawn into the story on the first page and hooked on having to know the outcome. This story reads like a tense thriller, and yet the book is filled with quirky facts and even some occasional comic moments, details that could come only from those who had been there and experienced it. Incredibly although this child was abducted twice and retrieving her seemed more and more remote, her mother never gave up in getting her back. This book made me realize again that truth is often stranger than fiction. I also gained a fresh understanding of the heartache endured by any parent of a "taken" child.

When I started reading this book I wanted it to be first rate but wasn't confident it would be. By the time I was on the second page I could hardly put it down. By the time I finished the last page I certainly considered it first rate. It has all the elements required to hold the reader's intense interest. It is the story of a heroic mother's love for her child, and that mother's persistence in her efforts to retrieve that kidnapped child, not once but twice. I highly recommend this book to all who like adventure and romance.

Creative nonfiction that reads like True Crime

This story is so good that Lifetime is considering making it into a movie. In the United States, over fifty percent of our missing children remain lost, but not this one. This is the story of a one year old girl who is twice abducted by her father and taken out of the country. Her mother's love and determination is the child's only lifeline home. This mother risks her own life to save the life of her child. A riveting read.

Hooray

Hooray for Rosalie Hollingsworth!! A childhood friend who even at the age of 14 showed the resiliance she displayed in the search for her daughter. Engrossing from beginning to end. A remarkable and often harrowing account of her search and Trianas' existence for the years she was missing. Read it; you will be amazed at the determation shown by this heroic woman. I might add my admiration for the utterly beautiful Triana.

I lived this shocking ordeal every step with Rosalie starting in the early 1960's through the 1970's

Today it is hard to believe a parent can take a child not once but twice and no one from authorities to media will help. This parent did not have custody, the authorities didn't care. That's what happened to Rosalie the first time Franco took Triana- AND- shockingly the second time. The first time he had her less than a year, but we missed so many of her first's- birthday, walking, talking. The urgency after the first abduction did not prompt any more assistance when he took her again at age 7. The second abduction Franco had Triana for 4 long heartbreaking years. When they were discovered missing again in 1971, we called the largest local news station and asked Baxter Ward/Channel 5 Los Angeles News to do a human interest story. We were trying to get the word out in case Franco and Triana were still in the State of California or even in the country. Again - no one would lift a finger to help, because Franco was Triana's biological father. However, he did not have custody, especially after the circumstances of the first abduction and the fact he had a passport and had fled the country before. Each time Rosalie and Triana would move, this snake would show up and move some place close by. You will be shocked at what this man did to his daughter to avoid capture for four long years in South America. Thank God for the laws in place now because of John Walsh and Mark Klaas. Be grateful, God forbid, if your child ever goes missing. You will have the full resources of the local police authorities and news media. When you read this story you will be sickened because it could so easily have been avoided if the authorities and the media had helped when we begged and gave them a multitude of background information to help.
