He wasnt a cowboy-

The Desperate dude was the second son of a rich British family- and he lost his money in Winnipeg, so he went to War Arrow to get a job. By using his brain he was able to battle with the bad guy- and impress the girl. Interesting perspective for a story of the old west- refreshingly different for pulp novel from the 1960's
