Excellent romantic suspense

Author Dee Davis has done some serious stirring of the romantic suspense pot with DESPERATE DEEDS - mixing a beautiful demolitions expert working under the guise of an ivy league English professor with a British agent whose smooth seductions are as impressive as his capability as an MI-5 agent. When a mission goes suspiciously wrong, A-Tac demolitions expert Tyler Hanson decides to blow off steam with an evening fuel by alcohol and a heated one night stand with a gorgeous Brit. At the next A-Tac meeting, Tyler discovers that her one night stand is none other than British MI-5 agent, Owen Wakefield, and he's been assigned to work with A-Tac. Even more disturbing, Tyler's suspected of being responsible for the attack that left two soldiers dead and several highly sophisticated detonators missing. Her anger at being a suspect is short-lived as she deals with a budding relationship with Owen, her larger than life Army general father's struggle with Alzheimer's and one violent incident after another, including the deaths of some of the people closest to Tyler. It soon appears that there's someone on the inside working against A-Tac. Owen Wakefield finds himself in a difficult situation. Placed with the A-Tac team, he finds himself a stranger, but is quickly welcomed to assist in the investigation. On the other hand, his boss is pushing him to find evidence, by any means, that Tyler was personally involved with the missing weaponry. Confident that the evidence points to someone else, Owen's determination to keep Tyler alive is first and foremost. As with the previous books, A-Tac is made up of the highly intelligent CIA team of men and women who perform double duty as ivy league professors while their government jobs are intensely precise and extremely dangerous. It is obvious that Ms. Davis has done her research to bring readers characters with the knowledge and expertise to carry out both roles. This is the third book in what I have found to be an outstanding series, following DARK DECEPTIONS and DANGEROUS DESIRES. I was pleased that this third book didn't lose momentum; the intrigue and suspense is just as strong. Tyler's father's Alzheimer's adds a touch of painful reality, and previous characters are key to the story but allow the focus to remain on Tyler and Owen. I highly recommend DESPERATE DEEDS and hope that all readers who enjoy well-written romantic suspense will check out this series by Dee Davis. COURTESY LAURIE/ROMANCE JUNKIES

Another Page-turner

Desperate Deeds can be described in three words: explosive, sizzling, & thrilling. If you like suspense, I recommend the entire series.

Steamy romance filled with nonstop action

Dee Davis is the queen of black ops romance! Tyler Hanson is black-ops, working undercover as a faculty member. The beautiful and sexy CIA agent is a demolitions expert. She has a one night stand with Owen Wakefield, a sexy British agent. When they meet again, her feelings for him are awakened. The A-Tack team has a double agent. It is up to Tyler and Owen to find the traitor and avert a devastating act of terrorism. Once again, Dee Davis offers readers a steamy romance filled with nonstop action. The pace of this tale is energetic and fast. I found myself quickly turning pages to see what would happen next.

terrific military romantic suspense

Daughter of a highly regarded General, Tyler Hanson served in the Army before accepting an assignment as the munitions officer for American Tactical Intelligence Command (A-Tac). She heads a mission that surprises her military team as "outsiders" even army brats with military experience are never assigned to this type of mission let alone lead it. The transport turns ugly with two of her subordinates dead and a key nanotechnological nuclear weapon stolen. British MI-5's Intelligent Agent Owen Wakefield interrogates Tyler to learn what went wrong on the mission starting with why Tyler's father assigned the lead to her. They team up in an effort to regain what was purloined and bring military justice to the assassins. As they follow clues, the pair uncovers a dirty nuclear bomb plot with all roads leading back to her dad with one noted exception that Tyler betrayed her unit. The latest A-Tac romantic suspense (see Dangerous Desires and Dark Deceptions) is a terrific military thriller in which the several mysteries make for a strong tale. In some ways the well-written romance takes a back seat to the intrigue. Readers will appreciate Dee Davis excellent entry in her strong series. Harriet Klausner

How is it possible for this series to get better - read this book and you will see!

Karma is a fickle mistress that will not be controlled or tamed even though we try to manipulate it and pretend it is coincidence that created the mess we are in. At times it is truly Karma that puts you right where you are supposed to be and we accept that everything happens for a reason. Tyler Hanson is the daughter of an iconic Army General who taught her to never give up and training Tyler to control her decisions and destiny. Prepared to handle anything after her stint in the army she joined the secretive American Tactical Intelligence Command (A-Tac) group as their munitions expert. This background is how she came to lead the team that was transporting a top secret military weapon one night on a dark stretch of road. It was a well calculated plan to accomplish the mission but unforeseen incidents and ghosts from the past create a terrible incident that lead to death and the confiscation of the government weapon by an unknown enemy. With all the problems and bad scenarios that arose from the theft the ray of hope that Tyler never believed would appear was in the form of a man. But when she meets the British MI-5's Intelligent Agent Owen Wakefield what a great problem he turned out to be. Yet after her recovery and amazing debriefing by Owen it soon becomes clear that Tyler was not on the mission by accident it was a direct order given by her father. Why her father was involved, why he wanted A-Tac there, and in particular Tyler to be the lead with this weapon transport was unclear. Most important of all who knew outside of A-Tac that this mission was going to happen and set this disaster in motion. Too many things on A-Tac missions are going wrong, too many dangerous mistakes being made and lives are being put at risk. This was not Karma or coincidence this was a human created scenario that Tyler and the entire team was going to figure out and solve. But the more Tyler investigates the more questions arise about her father, his friends and especially Owen's mysterious past and questionable involvement with A-Tac. They were drawn to one another from the moment they met but both of them have so many secrets and figuring out which one of them is holding back the most painful one will either turn everything around for the recovery mission, uncover the mole is or destroy everything including their relationship. They may be working with each other and walking into a relationship but without trust no amount of Karma will help until you let your guard down and tell the truth. Life may not be a romance novel but it sure can be fun and full of love if you just trust your heart and go with your first impressions. This book is the 3rd in the series and while I dislike picking favorites this one is the clear choice for perfect with me. You have the drama, the suspense, the military secrets, more suspense and best of all two wonderful characters that just can't stop being amazing and full of life which jumps out at you on every page.
