I have been dedicated to best fund raising practices in education and nonprofits for over 30 years. I have served on staffs at eight schools and colleges plus a number of other stints as an advisor and board member. Until Seymour's book became hard as hen's teeth to acquire, I gave copies to all my staff and advisees suggesting they read it after their first year on the job. It all makes such perfect sense then. Many have tried, but few have succeeded as eloquently as "Si" Seymour at getting at the heart of what makes people support important causes. The book begins with people and ends with people, because this is a people business, not one driven as hard by technology as it has become. Seymour's is the good word on fund raising --everything you wanted to know and were afraid to ask at CASE, NAIS, AFP, or whatever other conference or convention you attended to develop a career. You needed go no further than this compact, beautifully written, inspirational volume. I am never, and never will be, without a copy.
