In a world on the brink of ruin, a world where the ancient gods no longer answer prayers, the rulers of mankind prepare to battle the Blighted, an unknown threat. With the help of secret artifacts and gifts, they barely manage to resist the unknown while keeping it all a secret from the general population. But the unknown keeps evolving day by day, and every day a new breed is born, stronger than the last.

At the center of all this is Josh, a man who was once held as the most capable soldier of the kingdom, Joshua Belling. He lost it all overnight and now lives his life as a drunkard, wandering the dim alleyways of Moonridge, until one day, on his way home, he stumbled upon an injured old man. This marks the beginning of his redemption, imparted with three divine abilities. Josh will discover the world around him while trying to solve the mystery that surrounds the old man and the mysterious gifts he passed to him.

Forced to fight enemies with bizarre abilities, both human and non-human, with many enemies and fewer friends, Josh tries his hardest to remain in the shadows, keeping away from the queen's ever-present guards. But fate draws him out each time, putting him in the spotlight for all to see.
