Informative, enjoyable even for a novice

Reading the book was fun, I learned a lot and just by repositioning the router and removing potential interefence sources I solved my problem with my wireless router. It was in plain language but technical enough & to the point. I read the previous review - looks like it is written by a professional, well, I am not a wireless pro. So I can't really speak to whether it is needed by professionals - but for ordinary folks like me who have a nasty problem with their wireless routers this is just the perfect book. Now I can even "visualize" (key word of the book)where my cell phone will have a better coverage - I am no longer wasting my time yelling into the phone in the wrong spots. I gave 4 stars because the topics jump around a bit, you need sort through to find your answers.

Great, practical, read on interference

If you are in the wireless industry and have to deal with interference, this is a great book to have. Many fundamental facts and useful information are in the book, and are easy to find, which makes this a great reference to have nearby. There is much information packed into this book! Anyone working in the broadcast, microwave, cellular, WiFi or WiMAX industry should find this book useful. Many wireless related books that cover complex topics like interference, but immediately jump to detailed analytical techniques which tend to have little value in the real world. This book presents prescriptions for identifying and solving interference problems. If you need to prevent or solve interference issues, this book is for you. The Chapter titled Communication Fundamentals is one of the best I have seen. Wireless communications including microwave is very well covered. The other key chapters are Identifying Interference, and Other Causes of Interference, which cover what to look for to solve interference issues. The Appendices and various real world examples really round out the book, and make the book enjoyable to read. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is in the wireless field, and needs to manage or solve interference problems. Kudos to the author!
