Fantastic start of a new series

Famous for her Wolf Tales, Kate Douglas presents with the Demon Slayers a wonderful and very exciting new paranormal series to her readers. When reporter Eddy Marks finds a naked man in her garden shed she never thought that this encounter would turn her life upside down. Because the naked man is Dax, a fallen demon who came to Earth because the Demons from Abyss (Hell) have found a way to enter Earth and the balance between good and evil is in danger, when the Demons start wreaking havoc in our world. With help from Eddy and some other friends he takes up the fight against the Demons and the clock that is ticking down. What I really liked was the way the story was told in a kind of countdown till the day where Dax's own power would turn against himself. This way of story-telling sucks the reader into the story and keeps the suspense level very high. It was the first story that I have ever seen written that way and it keeps the reader glued to the pages. There isn't one boring moment in the book. DEMONFIRE is an absolutely fascinating story that will stay with you for quite awhile after reading the book. Ms. Douglas did a terrific job with the world building and her characters are absolutely fantastic. You can't help but fall in love with the mysterious and oh so sexy Dax. A small warning, you will never look at any kind of figurines the same way like before reading this story. I can hardly wait to read the next book in the series, Hell Fire, which will be released in September 2010. If you are a fan of paranormal romances, this is definitely not a book you want to miss!

Awesome!!!

This book was awesome. This is the story of Dax, an exiled Demon recruited to fight a demon invasion on earth. He has been loaned a human body and only given 7 days to complete his mission. He is helped by Eddy, a woman who is brave enough to fight beside him and love the man he has become. Along the way, Eddy and Dax are helped by Eddie's father Ed, Bumper the dog, Willow a sprite, and Alton a Lemurian warrior from another dimension. Together the group face off against the invasion to keep the town of Evergreen safe and prevent the balance of good and evil from shifting. The love story between Dax and Eddy was wonderful. You could actually feel the love the two had for each other. I love a book that can balance action, steam, and romance.

great new series!

Just recently picked up the Kindle version and was pleasantly surprised. I am a huge fan of paranormal romances along the lines of Charlaine Harris, Jeaniene Frost, Patricia Briggs etc... Demonfire kept me engaged and I enjoyed the plot and character development. Additionally, the love scenes are very steamy and well writtten. :) I won't give plot details away but I am looking forward to the next book in September.
