Democratic Rascality
From 1999 to date Nigeria's unique type of democracy has continuously evolved, albeit surreptitiously with the emerging generation of politicians unexperienced in the philosophies and technicalities of political discipline and practice. These politicians often have no formal political education and do not adhere to any code of conduct, with insufficient expos to the rituals and kernels of our national constitution and ideal. Consequently, they have adopted approaches to political participation that have introduced aggressive rivalries, with an avid desperation to win elections at all cost. Thuggery, snatching ballot boxes and result sheets, and other such phenomena have become a common characteristic of elections all across the country.
