Great Start! -- Keep 'em coming!

We all know that with movies and novels we have to suspend disbelief in order to buy in to the story; with John Cathcart's DELTA 7, this is not necessary. The places are real. The people are real. You can practically smell the fear of the child-soldier "recruits" as they trudge through the jungle, and taste the cold bite of the icy Carib in the hotel bar ... and when, during small-talk with a bartender, an innocuous query about a former acquaintance leads to murder and intrigue, you believe it could happen. I'm not going to relate the tale in DELTA 7 - read the book! You will be entertained by the details and deals, the crosses and double-crosses. John Cathcart's easy-going style makes the pages turn quickly, and weaves you through a story that could be happening today, now, right around you. This new author has created characters you feel you know, and wouldn't mind reading about again. Hopefully John Cathcart will continue to bring us along on the further adventures of John and Gloria (read the book!). Bravo John(Cathcart)! Don't stop now!

Great book, Hope to see more from this author

This is a great book, keeps you guessing. I sure hope John Cathcart writes many more books. This book has lots of action and adventure but it is much more. Maybe should be tagged as a thriller.

Look out Clancy, Ludlum and W.E.B. Griffin

John Cathcart has moved to the top of my "Must Read" list! A masterful, Mach 3 thriller. From the cockpit of an FB-111 to the jungles of Columbia to U.S. Southern Command, the reader is taken on a fascinating yet utterly believable journey of smuggling, deceit and murder. And, one man's struggle to make sense of it all. If you enjoy Clancy, Ludlum, Griffin, Coontz, etc. you'll love Cathcart. Can't wait for his next novel!

impressed

A great summer read - I finished it in one day - I just couldn't put it down. You enter the very realistic world of drugs, big dirty money and beautiful women. I certainly hope John writes another novel before my next vacation - I will be first in line to buy it.

Great book!

This was a surprisingly diverse and enjoyable debut novel. The book starts off in the cockpit of a fighter aircraft on a attack mission in northern Africa. Next, you're off to the jungles of Colombia as a young guerrilla fighter prepares for his first combat. In the book's third chapter, you're introduced to the family of the Colombian guerrilla and find out how the violence in Colombia impacts the lives of its citizens. With the stage set, you're off on a breath-taking romp through Colombia, Panama, Geneva, Australia, Grenada and the USA involving drug trafficking, money laundering and murder. Delta 7's main character, John Carter, has left his fighter cockpit and is now an airline pilot. An innocent question asked during one of his layovers sets into motion a bizarre and unexplainable series of events involving his former military comrades in arms. With the help of an beautiful and enigmatic woman from his past, Carter sets out to put together the pieces of the puzzle and make sense of what's going on around him. Several different plot lines are intricately woven together to take you on an exciting look into a violent and ruthless world that Carter thought he had left behind long ago when he served as a military attaché. This book to will keep you involved, interested and thoroughly entertained.
