As the title suggests, this play represents a frenzy of interpretations - various explanations, in this case, of the life of Camille Claudel, mistress to Auguste Rodin and sister to French playwright Paul Claudel, and artist herself. As the work reveals, however, Camille was, in part, betrayed by the men surrounding her, and most of her art was destroyed, while both her lover and brother institutionalised her in an asylum where she died. This story has been told before, but Scottish-born author Templeton tells it with a new poetic force and objectivity.
