Some of my readers will readily understand why this comparison could cause a problem, and others will probably raise their eyebrows." "The second, was more along historical lines and related to the nineteenth century doctrinal phenomenon and controversy over the theory of a pretribulational coming of Christ. Many Christians now hold to this theory, but remain completely ignorant of who introduced it, and the rationale behind it. As he contends, the doctrine is more than a storm in a tea-cup. In fact, he is well versed in this controversy because it brought about his own "defrockment." He was obliged to forfeit his ordination status with the denomination to which he belonged.
