This work on the application of international environmental law standards to resolve environmental problems is a matter of concern. Upon closer examination, the primary mission of a legal system is to address a range of issues related to the law, deviant behavior, abuses, and undesirable phenomena (those not aimed at the well-being of the community). Law is a tool for peace and socialization, a preventive and repressive system. It is a standardized and normative system, both structured by norms and a producer of norms, as the professor of philosophy of law, Charles VORBES, likes to say. Thus, the mission of legal professionals would be to contribute to this capacity-building of the system, to help it achieve its goals. By helping the system produce sufficient and adequate normative resources, we also aim to guide decision-makers in their decision-making. The law student, now a legal professional, sometimes sets out to find solutions to the flaws in the legal system. They learn, and they use the results of their learning to produce scholarly works in the service of the law and the community at large.
