As the Global Financial Crisis of the early twenty-first century deepens Dirk Neyman is summoned to Amsterdam and told he has been made redundant from his position as Head of the Asia and Pacific office of the Axis Financial group. He makes a fateful decision to continue business as usual in Bangkok.
