Bracing advice on embracing life

"Live fully and wholly in God" -- that's the invitation and challenge of this slender, yet foundational, book on Christian discipleship. Jim Thomson, a former missionary to China, Papua New Guinea, and Israel, addresses readers with candor, conviction, and compassion. He tells stories. Shares hard-won insights. He offers doable advice, questions worth pondering, and opportunities for prayer. Twelve chapters cover topics like discerning God's will, the problems with "stuff," humility and surrender, rewards and judgment. His prose is direct, yet leavened with humor -- a book to stir you, and stir you up. Read it alone or with a friend or small group. Seasoned followers will benefit as well as those new to the faith. "Wonderful days are ahead" Thomson writes, "days of change and challenge, of deep growth and giftedness."
Wanting to read it again

The author reaches out to the reader in each chapter. There are points in some of the chapters to pause, reflect and pray - the author actively engages the reader. The chapters flew by - I will now go back re read and spend some time to dig deeper in to the references.
